Cam + Saesha: Thetford Pregnancy & Gender Reveal

It is no secret that my favourite moments to capture are weddings and maternity/birth stories. Saesha reached out looking for someone to document her journey through her first pregnancy. Needless to say I jumped at the chance.

We met over coffee in town and discussed what to expect, as she is a first time mum and was eager to share experiences and learn about pregnancy and motherhood. We settled on a date for her pregnancy announcement and I started planning on what I could do to help her through this special time. We settled on a date and chose Knettishall Heath as the location. Fast forward to blustery evening with the most GORGOUS light over the heath.

The first couple minutes of working with a new couple is usually awkward as we both work to figure out how to interact with each other, but this couple was different. They were open and welcoming and so clearly in love not to mention obviously very excited for their new adventure. We didn't anticipate the weather being so cold that day, so we worked quickly and made some magic.

Fast forward, the weather has changed from late winter to spring. The sunset is starting later and later and spring showers as very much a daily occurrence because....it's life in England. Saesha stopped by one day with an envelope and instructions on how to contact her Mum to let her know. A couple of days later we met at one of my favourite locations, the Elveden War Memorial right off the A11, mostly because most people don't know it's open to the public. We had enlisted the help of another local small business, Heather of All Trades, for this sweet reveal.

How gorgeous is this cake?! As someone who has used Heather for a personal cake I can assure you it was also equally delicious.

After walking carefully over the many bumps carrying this tray, a cake and two pregnant women we were ready to get cutting. Dad was impatient as he was so excited to know the sex of his first child but we ran into a little snag...the cake knife was left back in the car. I ran, as much as a pregnant woman can, back to the car and came back to find poor dad pacing and just staring the cake down. Within seconds of handing the serving knife back over Dad was digging in. His reaction was priceless.

Have you ever seen a more excited father?! I had another quick little set up for them to celebrate the arrival of their baby girl. We have their maternity session coming up soon and I can't wait! I love that this family will have photos taken in every season and that they have chosen me to document it all!!
